Artist's Comments

ok, I just bought my first digital camera today and I'm pretty excited! I drew this last week, but I wasn't able to take a picture of it before now, so I'm pleased that I can share it. This is an ink drawing of Napoleon and Josephine strolling in a peaceful garden, which is based on a photo I took at Casa Loma in Toronto. If I had pictures from France, I would have used them, but I'm planning a research trip/fun vacation to Paris sometime this year, so hopefully I'll get lots of source material then.

I drew this for drawing class. I'm working on a second drawing, an interior shot, and it's killing me, all the details!

this is fabulous. i will never know how you were able to do that with ink, but it looks absolutely stunning. really really awesome work!

Thanks a lot. It's a combination of two techniques: drawing the ink on full-strength with a pen, and watering it down to apply with a brush.

Woow, that's very detailed! o.o
The ink techinque looks just like watercolour, which I thought you had used for this picture, it never knew you could do something like this with just ink.

Yep, you can use ink just like watercolour, nice thing about it is unlike watercolour, it's permanent when it dries!

Ah I see. Something tells me that not any kind of ink works for that.
